#1 Select a Category #2 Select a Topic Racial Asylum

Race is one of the original grounds that was included in the United Nation's Geneva Convention on the Status of Refugees from 1951 which forms the basis of asylum law internationally. To win a case based on race, you must show essentially two things: (1) that you belong to a particular race, and (2) that you fear persecution on account of your race. For asylum eligibility, the concept of race can often overlap with concepts like ethnicity and nationality, and persecution based on a mixed race can also count for asylum.
